I usually start a painting this way, using an uneven Oil Glaze & work into the image left behind by accidental careless coverage. This time I really liked the simplicity of the ghostly couple who kindly imprinted their shadowy forms so effortlessly.Their secret dialogue is intriguing & I’m hesitant to imply anything from my own thoughts- I’ll leave that up to you.
This is a large canvas Portrait of my Grandfather Frank Simpkin, Drawn from a photograph taken when he was a Teenage Boxer/bare knuckle fist fighter.
He fought in WW2 & he was a great inspiration to me. I drew this on the night he died.
